“Against All Odds: Chikumbutso Misinde’s Rise to Music Success”

Chikumbutso Misinde, also known as Don Zaggah “Safa Boss”. Here’s a rewritten version with some minor adjustments for clarity and flow:

Chikumbutso Misinde, aka Don Zaggah “Safa Boss”, was born in 1989 in Nchalo, Malawi, and grew up in Safalao, Ndirande, Blantyre. Despite facing challenges, including being raised by a single mother, Chikumbutso’s determination shaped his path from an early age.

At 10, he became the breadwinner for his family, navigating the tough streets of Safalao to make ends meet. He attended Ndirande FP School and later Namalimwe CDSS, often going to school without breakfast. Chikumbutso’s passion for music emerged at 12, influenced by local musicians Evance Mereka and Zebron Kankhunda.

He started as a dancer but developed his songwriting skills with the guidance of his mentors. Chikumbutso’s interest in IT led him to study computer technology, although the school eventually closed. In 2004, he met Vic Marley, who helped groom his talent. After Vic’s passing, Chikumbutso continued his musical journey with Vic’s brother, Star Marley, and Nep Man.

Together, they formed a powerful trio, recording music and touring, building a reputation in the Malawian music scene. Now based in Centurion, South Africa, Chikumbutso pursues his dual passions for music and IT. He founded Safa Musique, a record label that manages artists, organizes events, promotes music, and handles distribution and marketing.

Chikumbutso’s journey from the streets of Safalao to building his own music empire is a testament to his resilience and dedication. Today, he inspires many as a musician, entrepreneur, and community leader, committed to empowering the next generation of artists.
